Bhimber is a district headquarter, 50 Kilometers from Mirpur. The town is connected with Mirpur and Gujrat by a black top road, and very rich in archeology. It falls on the ruote that was followed by the Mughals Kings for their frequent visits to Kashmir .

Baghsar, 975 meters in elevation, is an ideal tourist resort in the Samahni valley. The Sar, local name for lake, is nearly half Kilometer long sheet of crystal clear water that sooths the sense of a tourist after a 64 Kilometer journey from Gujrat via Bhimber. On the top of hill is the famous Mughal fort over-looking the lake that adds grandeur to the whole area. This four-storyed massive structure of granite is a feat of Mughal engineering that has strood the ravages of time. It has also played important roles in history during the times of Ahmad Shah Abdali, Rangit Singh and Ghulab Singh. It is said that empror Jhangir on his way back from Kashmir fell ill and ultimately expired in this fort.
